Lily Guillen is a 24-year-old artist who primarily works with photography. She is Mexican- born, but was raised in Illinois. She is currently a MFA candidate at Wichita State University, pursuing her degree in studio art with an emphasis in photo media. She earned her BA in studio art at Monmouth College in 2018.
Guillen's work has been shown at numerous exhibitions, including the Salina Biennial at the Salina Art Center in Salina, KS, and #NewVisions2020 at the Texas Photographic Society in Coppell, TX. She has won various awards as an emerging artist, including First Place in the Analog Category at the 37th Annual Exposure Photography Competition in the Cadman Art Gallery at Wichita State University and Best of Show at the 2018 Juried Student Art Exhibition at Monmouth College. She was recently selected to participate in an artist residency with the Brashnar Creative Project in Skopje, North Macedonia.
